Ronja Weyhenmeyer was born and raised in Germany.
Italian Belcanto attracted her to Rome.

There she studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory with Prof. E. Salucci and finished her Bachelor of Music with honors. In 2017 she became a member of the Opera Laboratorio, Roma Sinfonietta in Rome with Elizabeth Norberg Schulz. From 2018 - 2021 she studied with Sylvia Koncza at HDMK Stuttgart as a Contact- Student. In 2021 she was a scholar of the Exzellenzlabor, in 2023 she joined the Accademia del Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti at Martina Franca and 2024 she had the pleasure to join Theater St Gallens` Operncampus.  


Her development as an artist has been strongly influenced by master classes and private studies with musicians like Edda Moser, Luciana Serra, Raina Kabaivanska, Bruno Taddia, Hedwig Fassbender and Rene Massis.

Biography

During her experiences she worked together with music directors as Bruno Aprea, Francesco Lanzillotta, Luis Bacalov, Alessandro Quarta, Andrea Cupia, Daniele Rustioni, Umberto Finazzi, Fausto Nardi, Gabriele Bonolis, Friederike Kienle, Gennaro Cappabianca, Gabriele Pro, Vincenzo di Betta and Matthias Janz.


As an soloist singer she participated in several festivals, like Macerata Opera Festival, Festival della Valle d´Itria, Fondazione Paolo Grassi, Teatro Duse Bologna, Giovanni Paisiello Festival, Festival di Sarzana, LAC Lugano, Ticino Festival, Theatre Bergisch Gladbach, Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte Montepulciano, Valletta International Baroque Festival, Teatro Torlonia Rome, Opera Rogaland (NOR) and the Arctic Festival Trømso.


She got the scholarship of the Richard Wagner Verein Bayreuth. 


She was and is part of choirs and ensembles, e. g.“Cappella Musicale di Campitelli” baroque ensemble in Rome.


Some recent prizes from competitions are the 2.Prize and Special Prize Best Interpretation of French Repertoire of the “14th International Opera Competiton Città di Brescia "in 2023. In 2022 she was Finalist of RAI-Radio3 Competition, “Voci in Barcaccia“ in Rome, Finalist at the “International Vocal Competition Gabriela Beňačková“ in Jihlava and won the 3. Prize at the Concorso lirico di Belluno.


After opera and Baroque music, she is also passionately dedicated to chamber music.


Her latest CD release from 2023 is a project with the guitarist Pietro Locatto and the Label Stradivarius, "Songs from exile", music by Castelnuovo Tedesco for guitar and voice.
She took part in the CD production "Voci in Barcaccia", produced by Radio Rai3 and Bam Music, released also in 2023.
